Where is Cynthia?

Hi all, I've been hiding out at my other blog.  No time for just "Cynthia"... I've been living my "mommied" life mostly.  But I'm finding that I can do both (sort of).  I've been growing with the family, going to fun parties, attending blogger meetups, a press conference for a fashion show, and now prepping for a blog conference!

Please visit me here: Cynthia...

A Little Game of Hide and Seek?

You found me! Olly olly oxen free! OK let us END this game of hide and seek!

Wow, it's been a while hasn't it?!  I'm still juggling work & home life...trying to pull it all together. I can't say that I am getting any better at it, but I TRY. I don't blog as much as I would like, but have been living life to the fullest. Hubby, son, and I are all doing well.  We have so many stories to tell but have been too "in the moment" to document it all via blog posts.  Little by little, it WILL happen.  Here is a fairly recent family photo.  I love our son's "tough guy" expression (Whatchu lookin' at Willis?) and the cute little photo bomber in the stroller!

Trying to squeeze in what I enjoy WITHOUT feeling guilty about it has been a journey. Taking small bits of "ME time" away from family time is taking some getting used to.  I am learning that it is necessary and good for everyone.  A refreshed Mommy & Wife is better for the Family.

Not throwing up a gang sign. Holding up 4 fingers =  4 Years of Marriage!
SO... making time for exercise (Yoga especially!), spa days with the girls, as well as clothes & makeup is in my near future! I am trying to venture into more fashion forward territory. That's a BIG deal for this 2 year old mommy & 4 year old wife!  Too much time had passed that I didn't take care of what I wore or how I looked.  It just didn't matter to me. Eventually I began to feel as frumpy as I looked!  I really "let myself go" and I just want to change that up.

Ann Taylor Launch Party
It was inspiring to attend a fashion event and see how looking good can lead to feeling good! My husband accompanied me on the adventure and was my professional photographer & videographer for the night!

I am also trying to connect with others IRL since socializing primarily happened online ONLY for me.  It really is easy to fall into that rut.  I don't really see it as a rut since I do enjoy it so much (not to mention that it is so much easier for me go online than it is to go out).  Interaction in person is good for you! I recently attended a fulfilling Blogger Meetup which involved getting to know a lovely group of  ladies who also share a love of blogging, spa treatments, delicious appetizers, wine spritzers, and brownies!  I was the oldest one there but that's another topic all together.

Spa-ing & Blogging come Together!
I feel so much better after sharing! Now it's your turn! I'd love to know what everyone is up to!  What have I been  missing out on here in Blogland?!  Let's get caught up. I need to know your tips & tricks about how you balance your blog life with all the other things that make up your days!

Busy, Busy, Busy

I can hardly believe how long it has been since I have written anything on my blog.  It makes me a little sad. I have been so busy.  Where does the time go?!  I want to change my online profile descriptions and scratch the part that reads: avid blogger.  I don't really want to do that but sometimes feel that I should.  More often than not I do stay connected with the online world via Twitter and on occasion via Facebook. Should I change my "about me" to ready "Twitter-er" instead of Blogger?

Well this is my random blurb for now.  I am off to distract myself from the pain that I am suffering.  Root canal tomorrow. Yippee! Long story.  Maybe I should blog about it?

Hope you are all doing well!  One of these days SOON, let's all catch up!

Working Out While Blogging

Hi All! I wanted to update with a post after somewhat of a hiatus.  I've been busy. Sadly, I couldn't squeeze in a moment to blog.  I just finished a 30 Day Bikram Yoga Challenge so my time to blog has been limited even more than usual.  I feel amazing though. Working out EVERY day for 90 minutes has done wonders for me!  I'll have to fill you in with a future post.

I am bummed that I will not likely be able to go daily - time is just not on my side.  I do want to continue with some sort of daily exercise (even if not Bikram Yoga).  Today  I ALMOST made an impulse buy . I managed to stop myself.  I tried to justify the $200+ price tag as an expense towards health!  I tried to imagine blogging & working out in one fell swoop.  It's pretty cool conceptually - but I know that it would probably end up collecting dust after the "newness" wears off.  Additionally, I don't need to stress of a toddler injury. Our super active son would not be able to resist taking "his turn" and "share" mommy's toy.

Instead figuring out how to assemble this monster, I think I'll try to work out a schedule in which I can make that daily 90 minute session in the yoga studio!

Note: Secretly I still want one. Minus the $200+ price tag.  Hmm...that's an idea. Maybe I can contact the manufacturer to see if they would like me to "review" their product from a mommy blogger point of view.

Mom and Me

This guest post from Hong Alexander

My mom and I are both really big on getting a great deal. I love that she’s so wonderful at seeking out the best price but for me it’s all about the price from the get go – what does it start out and what are the trends? I usually get online to do research on any big ticket item before I buy it to make sure I’m getting the best deal and that’s been helpful since I found the great wireless internet pricing specials last month and now I’ve got home internet!

I think it’s amazing how much money we’re able to save when we really try but you know, at the end of the day it’s all about whether or not you’ve got the time. I’m a stay at home mom so I’m able to make saving money a full time job but it’s not worth it if you’ve got to spend your free time clipping couponswhen you don’t have a lot. I think it’s important to note that there’s nothing wrong with couponing!
