What do you have an excessive amount of? Some women have excessive amounts of shoes. Some, purses. Oh I dunno, maybe some have excessive amounts of kids (Octomom?). Me? Blogs.I was starting to think that I have an excessive amount of blogs. If you click my Profile on Blogger you will see just that: 8 Blogs. Some get more love than others. I was thinking of scaling back because eight is just crazy. Just because you don't wear all eight of your favorite pairs of shoes an equal amount of times doesn't mean that you don't love the less worn ones. If you secretly favor one of your eight kids over the others, that doesn't mean you that don't love them all. In any case, you don't just "get rid" of your loves. I'm thankful that I didn't. I am discovering the brilliance in my "scattered brain-ness" of having so many different blogs. This is somewhat of a continuation of the prior post in which I spoke about doing sponsored blog posts. I just cant get it out of my head. What better way than to "blog" it out. Well eight may be crazy, but crazy equals more opportunity in my world. Not all advertisers want Mom bloggers, not all want beauty and fashion bloggers, not all want foodie bloggers....Thank goodness that I couldn't find my niche! I didn't start blogging to make any money. I blog because I love it. Please don't think that I am bragging because I'm sure that more experienced Bloggers would just laugh at me and call it chump change. But for this NEWBIE in the sponsored blog world, it's not the money but the fact that I am approached to write that thrills me! Ok, the money is nice. $153.50-nice. To be absoultely honest, I have turned down more offers than I've accepted. I want to stay true to my blog. But if you are all about the money, I won't judge you. With this economy I can understand one's willingness to write for money. Long story short: With 8 blogs this crazy lady gets 8 chances at sponsored posts instead of just 1. I like those odds.
To my dear 8 blogs: I'm sorry that I play favorites and don't always spread the love equally.
To Lisa at It Keeps Getting Better: Thank you for introducing me to sponsored posts. To be honest, I was leery. Could you really get paid to blog? Well...After reading her blog posts I felt more at ease that this was a legitimate opportunity. My growing PayPal account is "proof in the pudding" enough for me! (Note: the correct phrase is "proof OF the pudding").
To you Dear Reader: Please let me know if I can help you out should you decide to let your beloved hobby love you back with a little fun earned cash.
Why can't I just SHUT UP already about sponsored posts? Well...If I am THIS excited about it, I'm sure others may be also. Perhaps you are as hesitant as I was. Lisa gave me the assurance that it was legit. I'm hoping that in my sharing of my experiences I too can assure the next blogger!
Here is my shameless plug: If you want to sign on with Social Spark I invite you to use my referral link: Join Social Spark. It's free, it's fun, you get to set your price, and pick your campaigns. Aww - thanks for the shout out, girl! It's exciting to find something you truly enjoy & can make a few bucks at too! Or, in your case... quite a few bucks! Congrats on racking up quite a bit in such a short period of time! Hopefully, you'll inspire others too! :)
@ Lisa Brown You're welcome! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment as I'm sure you must be busy preparing for baby :) I am pleasantly surprised with how quickly it's happening as well. I am exploring even more opportunities and hoping to find other sources such as Social Spark. I really do appreciate your help in getting the ball rolling! I'm so glad that you blogged about Social Spark!
I admire your commitment to blogging. I think it's cool you have so many blogs. I keep meaning to, but then I fall asleep or watch TV or something.
@ San Diego Momma Thank you for commenting. I'm a fan of your blog and very honored that you stopped by! I tend to fall asleep too! T.V. has pretty much been eliminated so that I can have a little more blog time. :) I really wish that I could find more time to concentrate on my blogging... it's pretty hard to come by though being a new wife, first time mom, and working full time outside the home...I squeeze in those precious little moments when our little one is napping or if a spare moment magically presents itself!
I am following your blog and must tell you that your bathing suit series motivates me, makes me laugh, AND makes me wish for bravery like yours!
